On the night of December the 6th, 2008, “Cape No. 7 has finally won the official acknowledgment from the Taiwanese film industry by winning two major musical awards, and the music director, Sheng-Fei Lu won remarkable applause and appraisal of the audience.

Performing musician, composer, and producer: Sheng-Fei Lu. Lu won Best Lyrics and Song at the 1995 PolyGram’s TOP YOUNG music competition, composing group, and officially stepped into pop music business in 1996. In the past 16 years, he has worked as songwriter, composer, arrangement, and music director for concerts with the most popular singers from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China, including A-Mei, Richie Jen, Tiger Huang, Tanya Chua, etc.

Just when the Taiwanese film industry was going through some hard times, he answered to the director Te-Sheng Wei’s invitation and became the music director of the film “Cape No. 7,” because he thought that “we are all dreamers working hard for our dreams.” And the one year’s time he spent on this proved that dreams can indeed come true, and in such a moving way, too.

In a short period of time, there is already a set of two CDs, which are “Cape No. 7 film music soundtrack with vocal” and “Cape No. 7” on the market. Part of the CDs had been rearranged and re-recorded by the record company, so for fans of the film and music collectors, there was a sense of dissatisfaction.

The instrumental album that Timeless Fusion Wave Music is launching this time not only was arranged an performed by the music director Sheng-Fei Lu himself, but also includes featured interviews of the composer of “1945,” Chi-Yi Luo and the director Te-Sheng Wei. This album also has the honor to be endorsed by the director Te-Sheng Wei himself.

In the special interviews included in the DVD, Sheng-Fei Lu, Chi-Yi Luo and the director Te-Sheng Wei talk about the whole process of the making of the theme and soundtrack of “Cape No. 7,” from the difficulties and pain at the beginning, the brainstorming and communicating, to the transformation of emotion into notes. The music intertwined with the two love stories and 7 love letters spanning over 50 years to make a 90-minute musical story and became the best film music, not to mention the fact that the precious content of this DVD is exclusive and has never been shown on the market or media.

There are also 3 instrumental pieces composed and performed by Sheng-Fei Lu that were not included in the sound track, namely, “The beautiful wind of the South Sea---background music for models,” “Sun in haste--- atmospheric music for the hotel,” and “accompanying music for the wedding reception—Shake it.” This means that only consumers with the DVD have the chance to collect all three of these songs from the film that are not in any other album.
